Can I use a Bushnell BackTrack Personal GPS Locator for geocaching?
I'm a little geocaching and saw that it is cheapest GPS Available. Can I add a coordinate location without having to be in place?
I looked on the BackTrack Bushnell Web site and it does not appear that this device is suitable for caching. There is no way to directly enter the coordinates as close I can say, and it seems to take three points at most. This is not my favorite, but you can view this unit: http://www.amazon.com/Apisphere-Geomate-Handheld-GPS-Geocacher/dp/B002MZZX9E The price is not bad, and it comes with a large number of caches. The major drawback is that the "upgrade kit" for $ 25 is required to load new caches. A better choice would be to search Amazon or Craigslist for a low-end used "real" GPS. You should be able to find something for $ 50 to $ 75. You will not find many features at these prices, but try to make sure it has a USB port, no serial interface with the computer to load the caches. Beware of newelectronx Porkchop and I am sure he will try to lure you in automobile units Chinese site GPS. Have fun playing the game
