What a, good cheap GPS for both car navigation and geocaching?
I recently put in geocaching with some friends, but I was also considering getting a gps for car navigation, as I plan to go on a couple of trips road this spring and will be moving. Anyone have some suggestions of products? I'm looking for something that was easy to mount in my car; something around the order of $ 100 would be perfect, but I guess I can not be picky.
First, almost all units GPS designed for automobile use are unsuitable for the treasure hunt. Secondly, your needs, taken together, are mutually exclusive. I can propose a GPS, good cheap to drive and a good GPS at low prices for geocaching, but I do not really have a good, cheap GPS that does both. The transition Low price is where the problem comes in. There are hand held units that are capable of routing and provide guidance (although they often do not speak). I use my Garmin 60 CSx to cache and conduct and for bicycle and motorcycle. The problem is that with the GPS itself, as well as maps detailed, you push $ 400. You might almost be better to buy a (relatively) inexpensive and a GPS car (relatively) cheap hands. You could probably put up a pair for about $ 250 that meet your needs.
