TomTom XL 340 million 4.3-inch Portable GPS Navigator for life cards
I'm pretty knowledgeable technology and have used GPS devices in completely different the past. I chose Tomtom Garmin mainly due to tomtom home support, higher user interface: TomTom additional data on the screen with the name of the road on which you ride.
Most negative comments here are the problems of updating card is larger than in recent years (around five major Mb) and the error causes.
but it is easy to travel around.
1. contact the home PC. turning the unit on. Select Yes to attach. Tomtom Home can install on your PC.
2. TomTom HOME menu, the head of "Managing my ONE XL. "On things on the device, click the vote. you twice, then remove all the foreign voices pc (recorded voice files are little, does not matter). Advantages: 4.3 in screen, good routing, advanced management way (it works well), IQ route (highway mostly based on historical data of traffic), terribly Quick GPS fix <30 sec (but you want to join pc a minimum of seven days for each GPS file can be updated quickly to help correct signal) alittle more than a cold start or if you forget to sync with your PC over seven days, but there are still about a minute or less to repair the signal. also terribly robust signal near full bar in my house. Text to Speech (street names) is the voice of pc, so it's OK. recorded voices are more beautiful but not to try to text to speech. mounting bracket provided Easyport is nice, simple, stable.
Cons: The brightness of the screen 100% is not as bright as what I need (I also use TomTom Navigator half dozen on my smartphone with high distinction, brightness), however, continue to see well on a sunny day. pc voices text to speech are not as clear, once you drive and play music.
In summary, the TomTom includes a ton of good options for the value. if you do not want bluetooth (for hands-free decision with your phone, this is not reasonable in any way as a result of your book seems somewhat permanently at the opposite end) FM transmitter (which is not reasonable if you want to play your CD in the car) or real-time traffic receiver (which is unequal mainly based on the data I read), the 340S is to urge that one. the public own smartphones recently with a net, so they get real-time traffic, up to date points of interest on the Google map, and play mp3 files. So you really do not want these options from a gps device (in addition expensive)
