Whats the point of having a heart-rate monitor?
I was looking at a few gps watches and some of them could track your heart rate for another 20-30 bucks. Whats the point of tracking your heart-rate during a run?
Unlike the one above me I don’t agree at all, I’ve run with different polar brand hrm for over 8 yrs. and you learn so much. Whether training or racing you see how good/great shape your in, see how hard you body/heart works when in different temps., climate, and terrain of each course when running at different paces. If used right this can help you max. out your potiental or even when you might need a day off or rest b/c of fatigue. Also when done with a race or workout you have a recovery time, I’ve always used mine as 2 mins. and how well your heart rate comes back down has a lot to do with the shape your in as well. All this is so much easier than just taking your pulse, b/c all recorded on the watch to be written down or downloaded later!
