gps waypoints
I have a Dell Dimension 4500 new HD and Windows XP and My New Meridian Marine GPS does not work today in the Serial Port
Replaced HD with new Seagate 200GB HD. I reloaded Windows with SvcPak-2. The GPS worked before on the old 20GB HD, but now does not work. I do not remember a disc installation with it. I just plugged in and everything worked well. The GPS connection to the computer connects only to the serial port of a (small beside great printer port.) I know it's 4800 baud on the GPS and I changed the port … but now the mouse jumps around until I unplugged the GPS. I used to use the free web program called Easy GPS "waypoints to dnload etc. but now I have problems … Thank you for any help.
Since your GPS and freaks when your mouse is plugged it could be a problem with your mice share the same IRQ as GPS. You could try a USB mouse if you have one. If an IRQ conflict, it would take a lot of details to enter to fix. You may be the best at this stage to speak to customer service from Dell for help.
