What is the best value for a hand GPS for hiking in the outdoors?
I'm in the market to buy a gps Portable. I am interested in the Garmin eTrex Venture Cx, but I seek further advice. What brand and model worked well for you?
The first three choices because Backpacker magazine's gear guide that happened today include ETRAX Venture Cx Garmin $ 286, garmin gpsmap 60csx $ 538 and stripped down version CS $ 482 and the Magellan eXplorist XL $ 400. The latter two have worked well in the canyons and woods, while the former will down to 125 feet radius of accuracy in these areas.
