Why can not I find a good solution for GPS tracking for pets as Tracker for cars?
After losing my dog in the park I found large scale reliable service without condition in the United Kingdom for pet owners who have lost and want to find their pets. Does anyone know of anything that can help pet owners locate their pets? The dogs are microchipped so if they are scanned for ID that the RSPCA can use to contact us by phone, but I'm looking for a service as those used to track mobile phones for kids
We have been seeking the same thing for adults who are confused and can easily become lost. There is no device well there yet. GPS tracking systems are limited by the power and size of the antenna. If you want the system to be on 24 / 7, he needs a big battery. If you want this to work in most conditions of coverage, it needs a large antenna. a gps receiver usually needs only to pick up signals you need to send signals. Even a GPS unit is normal disrupted by tall buildings or blocked by trees, etc. – bad news for our needs! Cellular systems can communicate with the Local cellular phone towers and do work when activated. If you could train your dog to turn it on when it is lost, a system battery might work for you! There are some other options such as small-frequency radio transmitters and trackers, but their range is more limited and they are more limited in usefulness. We tested a system called Ion Kids (or something like that) which was very good, but not quite what we needed. A place to check is hunting supplies, however they have trackers for their dogs, I think.
