What is a good GPS for aviation with the weather?
My father just got his driver liscense and wants GPS with weather updates for its aircraft. I was going through many different systems and I'm finding it difficult to a specifically adapted for aviation with the weather, I would go below $ 1,000, but if I can not get a voucher for that I would willing to go higher. Also, what are the service options for the forecast? I know XM is there others?
For $ 1,000 of your own in the budget use Garmin 396. They are great. A Stormscope in it, radar, cloud cover, radio, many features very pleasant. There are some panel mount systems costing exponentially more who can do the same thing.
