What is the next step to find my boat sank?
I know the general area, and we spent 4 hours using a Sonar / GPS, and could not locate it. The sonar shows a good picture of the bottom for at least 100 feet on each side of the boat. Other ways to locate? What are the chances it has evolved in the 2 months its been under water? This is a 14-foot fiberglass ski boat without flotation because of his age. The lake lies between 15 to 30 feet deep in the region. The region had a major storm since it sank, so it may have been aware that water came into the lake, then went over the spillway at about 5 miles of the place where the river leaves inside. I know its an old boat, but it became a real treasure hunt that I lose sleep over, lol.
This could be difficult now that some time has elapsed. Sometimes, the currents can be surprisingly strong, the bottom is hit by more storms 10 meters deep (depending on the search, etc.) The shell can be fairly easy to move, because it does not weigh that much underwater displacement. Even if you know where the boat is that it can be very hard to find in low visibility, low variable features and so on. In short, you must search the grid in an orderly and well-defined manner, if the water is clear enough, you should consider research visual (SCUBA, Hooker, submersible camera, whatever.) longer you leave the harder it will be. I think you have a very small chance at this point – as you say, if there was a major storm event occurred recently, it is a good chance the current widened surprisingly – are the paris open when this happens. Good luck.
